Do not pray for easy lives, pray to be stronger

I've been reading Bila Allah Menduga Kita by Syed Alwi Alatas. (It's a good book anyway. I suggest everyone to at least own this book and of course read it)

There is one sentence that make me realize something. The book said it's from John F. Kennedy,

"Do not pray for easy lives, pray to be stronger."

It got me thinking that people can't run from problems. It's part of our lives. It's how you handle your problems.

I was so happy yesterday but today, I am sad as sad can be. This is what I'm trying to relate. You will be happy and sad as long as you still breathing. One second you will be smiling, one second you will be crying. It's life. Whatever it is, turn to Allah as He is The great Reliance.

P/S : I get easily upset but I don't easily cry over something. When I was kid I was the cry baby but I am 23 years old now. When I cry, it means something.
